Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:17, Romans 6; 1 John 1:9; Ephesians 3:12; 1 John 5:11

At long last, I am settling in to obey God in the focus he gave me for this year.

After several weeks of prayerful discernment late last year, I felt a strong leading toward a focus for 2010 of learning to live out the reality of who I am in Christ. It’s one thing to know what the Bible says about this and quite another to live it out in everyday life. I know I am no longer a slave to sin. I know the Holy Spirit is within me to help me when tempted, yet I still sin. I know I am forgiven, but I carry guilt and shame over my sinful thoughts and acts of omission and commission.
